How To Use Instagram Stories To Promote Your Business
Instagram Stories has exploded in popularity and has allowed businesses to connect with their followers on a much more personal level. It is also great for sharing photos and videos that you do not want on your profile indefinitely, since they are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
In this post, I’m gonna be sharing how to use Instagram Stories to promote your business.
#1. Take your followers behind the scenes
The first way to use Instagram Stories to promote your business is to take your followers behind the scenes. People just love peeping behind the curtain, and nobody wants to support some nameless and faceless brand.
If you sell physical products, show them how your products are made. If you are trying to promote your personal brand, take your followers along with you to events or a sneak peak into your daily routine.
You basically want to make them feel like insiders.
#2. Show a product demonstration
The second way to use Instagram Stories for your business is to show product demonstration. Because Instagram Stories only last 24 hours, you can afford to showcase your product in a different light.

#3. Tease your new products
The third way to use Instagram Stories is to tease your new products. If you’ve got a new product or a new course launching, you can tease your followers with some information about the upcoming launch.
You can shoot a video of you chatting about the product, or show a quick glimpse of the product or part of the product.
#4. Run surveys and get feedback
The fourth way to use Instagram Stories is to run surveys. We all know how important it is to get feedback from our audiences, which is why Instagram Stories polls are awesome for getting quick feedback on anything.
You can ask people to vote on a product feature, your next course, your next guest, or make it fun and personal and ask them to vote on something completely unrelated to your brand. You can also make the survey more fun by using the emoji slider.
#5. Announce flash sales and limited-time offers
The fifth way to use Instagram Stories for your business is to announce flash sales and limited-time offers. Since stories are posted only for 24 hours, it’s a great opportunity for you to run a flash sale for your followers.
If you have 10,000 followers and more, you can add a link to your Instagram Stories that can take them directly to the sales offer page. This sale can be exclusive to your Instagram followers or you can use Instagram as just another channel to advertise an existing promotion.

#6. Run an Instagram Stories takeover
The sixth way to use Instagram Stories is to run an Instagram Stories takeover. Reach out to other Instagram accounts related to your brand and see if they will let you take over their profile for a few hours. It will give you a chance to reach a wider audience than just your existing followers.
Of course, you might need to offer an incentive such as returning the favor and letting them take over your account as well so they can get the same benefit.
#7. Promote mini versions of your existing content
The seventh way to use Instagram Stories is to use it to promote mini versions of your existing content.
Let’s say you have a blog and you’re trying to get more readers. Put snippets of the blog content in your story to show followers what they will see if they read the blog.
It is a great way to get traffic back to your site with existing content that you already have.
#8. Go live on Instagram Stories
The eighth way to use Instagram Stories is to go live and stream a live video story. It allows you to have a more authentic interaction with your followers, and when you go live, your viewers have a chance to comment in real time.
You’ll want to respond directly to those comments, and call out users by name. A great way to encourage lots of comments on your live video is to do a Q&A segment.
Once you finish, Instagram gives you the option to keep your video posted as a story for the next 24 hours.
